Spark of Illumination: the Art of Shadow Alchemy
March 26-28, 2027
Shadow Work® is more than an intellectual exercise—it’s an embodied journey into more of who we truly are. It is a kind of light work, actually…
Join us in March for Spark of Illumination: The Art of Shadow Alchemy, a dynamic and immersive Shadow Work® experience. This approach goes beyond books, journaling, and meditation to ignite the beginnings of true, embodied transformation. (“Transformation”, by the way, is rarely a single event; it often starts with a breakthrough and evolves through ongoing awareness and intentional practice. This workshop provides the breakthrough and then equips you with tools and guidance to sustain and deepen the changes you wish to create.)
We’re thrilled to bring Shadow Work® back to the Seattle area!
This is a unique opportunity to experience the depth of Shadow Work® —a transformational modality created by Cliff Barry— in community. If you’re curious but unsure, please reach out. We’d love to talk and help you explore if this retreat is right for you.
Spaces are limited.

You’ve done some personal work. You understand yourself better. And still… some familiar patterns keep showing up.
Spark of Illumination in Seattle offers an opportunity to explore what’s keeping those patterns in place and practice new possibilities through an experiential Shadow Work® weekend.
Guided by experienced facilitators and supported by a small group, you’ll explore:
More choice: Recognize the patterns behind people-pleasing, avoidance, or control, and experiment with different responses.
Your voice and boundaries: Connect with what you feel, need, and want. You might even practice expressing it.
Parts of yourself you’ve tucked away: Explore the emotions, strengths, and desires you’ve learned to hide, judge, or dismiss to keep you safe or maybe even to survive.
Change you can feel: Engage your body and emotions alongside your understanding, giving you an experience to draw on beyond the workshop.
Connection and fun: There’s room for depth AND laughter, play, and the relief of discovering you’re not the only human with shadows. (Wait…what?!)
You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. Indeed, curiosity and a willingness to explore is a great place to begin.
To ensure your comfort and readiness, registration includes a brief consultation with one of our facilitators.
Your facilitators are Gretchen Kainz and Nathalie Jackson, a powerhouse facilitator from Alberta, Canada!
